Bainimarama's Fiji First party registration delayed

10:12 am on 22 April 2014

Reports from Fiji say the regime leader Frank Bainimarama will not register his political party tomorrow as initially planned.

He told the Fiji Live website he was still compiling the 5000 signatures required.

Rear Admiral Bainimarama says he is still consolidating the list of registered names and awaiting forms from the islands.

He says more time has been allowed as more people want to sign up.

The prime minister's Fiji First party would be Fiji's fifth to be registered for the September elections.
