The three U.S. Pacific territories have been allocated more than 7 million US dollars for wildlife restoration and sports fish restoration funds.
The allocation is part of a nearly 1.1 billion dollars in excise tax revenues paid by sportsmen and sportswomen to state and territorial fish and wildlife agencies to fund fish and wildlife conservation and recreation projects across the U.S.
The money is distributed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to all 50 states and territories through the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration and Dingell-Johnson Sport Fish Restoration programs.
According to the distribution list, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands will each receive during fiscal year 2014 more than 2.3 million dollars to conserve fish and wildlife resources.
