New US DOL representative in American Samoa

6:39 pm on 26 March 2014

A new investigator from the United States Department of Labor will be taking over from Michael Eastwood as the Department of Labour's representative in American Samoa.

She is Siriporn Poondee, who has been with the Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division for seven years.

The investigator has been working out of the Los Angeles district, and is now in American Samoa on special assignment until June.

She says as Mr Eastwood did, she will be enforcing labour laws and visiting businesses.

"If you have questions about labour laws and wanting to file confidential complaints, I can definitely help you screen down the complaint and listen to what issue you have with the companies."

Siriporn Poondee.

Meanwhile Michael Eastwood is returning to California to his Department of Labour staff of investigators there.
