Sport: Capras up against it vs PNG Hunters

11:08 am on 15 March 2014

The Central Queensland Capras are braced for a gruelling clash with the PNG Hunters in Kokopo this afternoon.

The Rockhampton based club are the only team to beat the Hunters in their brief history, in a pre-season clash last month, but are yet to register a win two weeks into the new Queensland Cup season.

The home side are one of five unbeaten sides in the competition and made a statement last week, beating defending premiers the Mackay Cutters.

Capras head coach Jason Hetherington says they will need to be at the absolute top of their game.

"One thing that I knew we were going to face with the Hunters was certainly 80 minutes of playing footy. Play with pride and passion and whether you're up by 50 or down by 50 they're going to play the same way for the whole 80. It's their number one national sport so there's a fair bit riding on those guys too so I'm really looking forward to it."

The match kicks off at 2pm local time.
