In Papua New Gunea the chief executive of PNG Power Ltd, John Tangit, has been reinstated after being suspended for a day over allegations by the company's board of improper and unsuitable behaviour.
The decision to reinstate him was directed by the State Enterprise Minister Ben Micah on Wednesday.
Mr Tangit reinstatement was applauded by the general workforce whose union has called for an end to outside interference in the utility.
The suspension had come during a ministerial meeting in Jayapura, also involving Mr Tangit, through which PNG hoped to secure power supply from Indonesia.
