Strong winds and heavy rain are expected in Fiji's western areas later today as tropical cyclone Lusi tracks towards the group from northern Vanuatu.
The Fiji Meteorological Service warns Lusi is intensifying and anticipated to reach the storm force Category 2 level later today or Category 3 hurricane level on Wednesday.
If it follows its east south east track it may pass within 200 to 300 nautical miles to the west of Nadi through Wednesday and Thursday.
