Sport: Fiji Warriors fully focused for PRC title defence

The Fiji Warriors are attempting to avoid outside distractions ahead of their Pacific Rugby Cup clash against the Queensland Reds A team in Brisbane tomorrow.

The Warriors won the PRC title for the fifth year running in 2013 after the IRB decided to cancel the Pacific leg of the tournament.

This year has seen a further revamp with New Zealand teams no longer involved and the introduction of the Pampas XV from Argentina.

New coach, Lance Whippy, says the defending champions are in a confident frame of mind and not worrying too much about their opponents.

"Not really - we just watched a couple of the main Super 15 team because my understanding is they have a lot of training sessions together. We were taking a bit of cue and actually looked at their game and how they would play the game but not too much focusing on our opposition but more on ourselves, look at our strengths and our weaknesses and what we need to improve on."
