The United States Geological Survey says a magnitude 6-point-7 earthquake has struck off Vanuatu
The quake was at a depth of more than 100 kilometres.
There have been no immediate reports of any casualties or damage.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre says the quake was too deep to generate a tsunami.
