An appeal has been launched by Christian World Service to support the women of Ha'apai and Vava'u who are organising clean-up operations in Tonga following tropical cyclone Ian.
The support will go towards Ama Takiloa, a network of women's groups throughout Tonga who have been involved in disaster preparedness and climate change adaptation.
A spokesperson for Christian World Service, Trish Murray says the network of women need funds to carry out their work, which includes providing food, water, shelter and medical needs.
Ama Takiloa has run workshops on disaster preparedness and climate change and the women involved have supported each other in improving livelihoods across the island groups.
