The Solomon Islands government is building a new police post at Babanakira on the Weather Coast of Guadalcanal to replace one burnt to the ground earlier this year.
The earlier post had been built with funds from the Regional Assistance Mission.
The Minister for Finance and Treasury, Rick Hou, says the construction will be paid out of a two point 4 million US dollar allocation to police infrastructure in the 2014 National Budget.
Money will also be spent on police housing at Lofang Police Post in the Shortland Islands in Western Province.
