An inmate in American Samoa has been transferred from the territory's Correctional Facility to Manu'a for his own safety.
This follows allegations that the 18-year-old was assaulted by prison guards.
He was reportedly transported to Ta'u island on Monday on the Marine Patrol boat.
The Commissioner of Public Safety William Haleck says the assault allegations are under investigation.
The commissioner says the inmate should be returning to Tutuila next week at the completion of the internal inquiry,
