Investigation in Samoa into missing police funds

4:30 pm on 21 October 2013

The Samoa Police Association has removed the president and members of its executive board in a no confidence vote after reports funds had gone missing.

A senior police officer says about 6,000 US dollars was found to be missing from the association's account when a private audit firm looked into its funds use.

Police officers pay contributions to the association from their fortnightly salaries.

A new president and executive members have taken over the running of the association.
