The organisers of the 2015 Pacific Games in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, have entertained Pacific sporting officials and local dignitaries at a function in Wallis and Futuna.

The Games organisers are in Wallis to observe the ninth edition of the Mini Games and present a progress report to the Pacific Games Council's General Assembly on Sunday.

The chairperson for the 2015 Pacific Games, Emma Waiwai, says the visit is an opportunity to see what does and doesn't work.

"The issues that come up in nearly every Games is accommodation, food and transport so Wallis is really not unique to those problems and so for us, because it's going to be a bigger Games, at least we know these are still the same issues and we just need to prepare well for when they're there."

Emma Waiwai says progress in Port Moresby is on track but organisers do have a Plan B and C for any problems that may arise.
