Papua New Guinea have maintained their lead atop the medals tally after three days of the Pacific Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna.

Four gold medals in weightlifting and middle distance running increased their haul to 18, four clear of New Caledonia.

Vinnie Wylie is at the Games.

"Weightlifter Steven Kari matched his sister's haul from a day earlier, winning three gold medals in the men's 94kg division, breaking eight regional records in the process. Poro Gahekave added another win for PNG in the women's 1500m, edging compatriot Jenny Albert by just seven hundredths of a second. New Caledonia bagged seven gold medals in athletics to move into second place on the medals table, winning the men's and women's 5000m, men's 1500m, hammer throw and long jump and the men's and women's para shot-put titles. Samoa's monster haul of nine gold medals on the final day of weightlifting saw them leap to third place overall with 12, one ahead of Tahiti who continued their perfect run in Va'a by taking the individual men's and women's endurance races."
