Fiji offered US assistance for elections

Reports from Fiji say the United States has one million US dollars on offer to assist with the 2014 elections.

Fiji Village reports the United States will also offer support after the elections, especially with dispute resolution and training newly elected MPs.

According to the website Australia's acting High Commissioner in Suva says he has been assured an independent Elections Commission will be set up and an independent Supervisor of Elections will be appointed.
