Fiji Broadcasting Corporation apologises for election date mistake

10:11 am on 4 July 2013

The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation says elections will be held no later than September the 30th next year.

FBC News ran a story last night quoting Fiji's Minister Responsible for the Elections, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, that elections will be held by September the 3rd, 2014.

FBC says it genuinely regrets the mistake and confirms that according to a government statement, elections will be held before the 30th of September 2014.

FBC News says it apologises for this oversight and reiterates that the date it announced on last nights bulletin was incorrect.
