Papua New Guinea police have arrested two men in Gulf province in connection with the killing of four Chinese in a shop in Port Moresby last month.

The 18 and 19 year olds were arrested in their Kaivukoro village in Gulf Province by local police.

The arrests came after a series of police raids in Port Moresby which led them to relatives of the suspects who revealed where the two youths had gone.

Police think the two were part of a group of men who stormed into the shop and slashed the four victims, all Chinese nationals in their late 50s, with machetes.

Police are continuing to investigate the crimes and are seeking public support.
