Vanuatu's prime minister, Moana Carcasses, has left Port Vila to seek medical treatment in Singapore.
The prime minister was feeling unwell when delivering his public speech to mark the 33rd independence anniversary on Tuesday, saying at the time that he was a bit sick.
It is the first time that a government leader has been flown to Asia for medical treatment.
One of his political advisors, Simeon Robert, says the Vanuatu taxpayers will pay for ther care.
