The new American Samoa governor, Lolo Matalasi Moliga, has written to the Samoa government saying his administration is now ready to hold the annual inter Samoa talks, or the Samoa Summit.
Lolo says he had been reluctant to move forward with the Samoa Summit because he felt unprepared to intelligently and competently discuss issues of mutual concerns for both Samoas.
In the letter, he says having spent seven months in office, he is confident he can discuss matters impacting the two Samoas.
Lolo says a team of directors will collaborate with their Samoa counterparts to develop the draft agenda.
The dates, time and venue are yet to be decided.
