A Samoa businessman who was sentenced to life imprisonment on Friday last week for murder has escaped from Tafaigata prison.
Lucky Nauer is serving time for the murder of Fareni Viavia at Vaitele in 2006.
His attorney told the Samoa Observer that he was informed by police that Nauer disappeared from prison last Friday.
Several policemen were at the Faleolo Airport on Friday night in the hopes of finding Nauer.
Viavia was shot in the head at Vaitele uta in 2006 after a high-speed chase from Malie involving the defendant.
The escapee had appealed against his conviction but lost.
