The chairman of the Samoa rugby union and Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, says dumped sevens coach Faamaoni Lalomilo is welcome to reapply for his old job when it is advertised.

The Samoa Rugby Union last week recalled the Manu Samoa head coach Stephen Betham to his former sevens role for next month's World Cup in Moscow.

Betham's secondment is just for the World Cup and Tuilaepa says the sudden change was necessary because of the disappointing end to Samoa's World Series campaign.

He says the sevens head coaching job will be readvertised after the Moscow tournament and Faamaoni Lalomilo is welcome to apply.

"The process that we go through we advertise for a new management and he has access, ability, to the new post when advertised."
