Waitakere United football coach Paul Marshall says his team is still determined to finish top of their Oceania Champions League group, despite opting to rest a few of their front-line players for Sunday's match in Noumea.
The New Zealand domestic champions have already qualified for the tournament semi finals on the back of a three-game winning streak.
A win at New Caledonia champions Mont-Dore would guarantee top spot in Group A and Paul Marshall admits it's a prospect that didn't seem possible only a fortnight ago.
"Within two weeks we were looking fairly shabby to topping the group so it's a funny thing really but it's worked out well for us. We had a great win over Auckland City at Kiwitea Street and obviously the win against Tahiti in Tahiti really helped us out as well. It's allowed us to prepare slightly differently now - we've been able to sort of rest people that have got niggles and any kind of suspension woes - so yep we're fortunate."
Also in Group B, defending champions Auckland City need to win or draw away to Tahiti's Dragon to confirm their playoff spot.
Meanwhile Vanuatu champs Amicale FC need to beat Fiji's Ba by three goals or more to secure top spot in Group A.
The other game sees Hekari United seeking their first win at home to Solomon Warriors.
