Vanuatu to test for suspected dengue cases

1:33 pm on 13 March 2013

Vanuatu's Department of Health has reported six suspected cases of dengue fever.

Health authorities report that samples have been sent to New Caledonia for confirmation and the results should be known before the end of this week.

They say tests have to be done in New Caledonia because Vanuatu lacks the equipment for such tests.

Six suspected cases are Ni-Vanuatu.

The health department also reported this morning it has two confirmed cases of dengue fever but they are not locals.

They are law students from Solomon Islands.
