A former Ombudsman of the Solomon Islands, John Smith Pitabelama, will have to appear in court in Gizo to face charges of larceny and embezzlement by a servant.
Mr Pitabelama, who runs a private law firm in Gizo and is also a former police officer, says he has no case to answer.
But a Magistrate in Honiara, after hearing the prosecution case last week, says Mr Pitabelama does have a case to answer and has ordered him to make an appearance.
The court ordered that the case be continued in Gizo.
No date has been set for him to appear.
