New CNMI governor says he has a very ambitious agenda

12:31 pm on 22 February 2013

The newly sworn in Northern Marianas governor, Eloy Inos, says he has a very ambitious agenda for the US territory.

He has less than two years of his term run after the resignation this week of Benigno Fiiotal.

Mr Fitial was to face trial in the Senate next month after being impeached by the House last week.

Mr Inos says his first move will be to review all Cabinet positions.

He says he will also look into the emergency declarations for the financially struggling Commonwealth Utilities Corporaton and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation as well as the proposed extradition of the fugitive former attorney general Edward Buckingham.

Mr Inos and the new lieutenant governor, Jude Hofschneider, were sworn in yesterday.
