Chinese businessman in Samoa denies rape and indecent assault charges

A Chinese businessman in Samoa facing two counts of rape and one of indecently assaulting a 16 year-old girl who was one of his employees has denied the charges.

The defendant appeared before the chief justice, Patu Falefatu Sapolu, where his defence lawyer entered his plea.

According to the police, the victim was allegedly raped and indecently assaulted in one of the defendant's houses the day after she started working for him.

The man has been released on bail to await his trial in July.
