Police in Papua New Guinea say they have arrested an undisclosed number of people following last week's torture and killing of a young woman accused of sorcery in Mt Hagen.
Kepari Lanieta was burnt alive by a group of men who accused her of the killing of a boy through sorcery.
The assistant police commissioner Teddy Tei has told the newspaper, The National, that the city will be combed for anyone remotely associated with the killing which has been condemned internationally.
He says anyone who was not involved in the actual killing but who assisted will also be arrested and charged.
A large crowd watched the burning and police say many witnesses have volunteered information, making it possible for police to arrest those still at large.
