Sport: PNG-Aus AFL Taskforce meets in PNG

The Papua New Guniea-Australia AFL Taskforce met in Port Moresby on Wednesday to to finalise a report that will set clear recommendations on how the sport can be expanded and strengthened in PNG.

Co-chaired by Australia's Parliamentary Secretary for Pacific Island Affairs, Richard Marles, and PNG's Minister for Transport, Ano Pala, the taskforce aims for the two countries to work together in developing Australian Rules football in PNG.

Also in attendance were PNG's Minister for Sports and Pacific Games, Justin Tkatchenko, Acting Chancellor of the University of PNG, Professor Ken Sumbuk, AFL Asia Pacific Development Manager, Andrew Cadzow and Chairman of PNG AFL, Scott Reid.
