Sport: Totori given licence to thrill

Wellington Phoenix striker Benjamin Totori says he's been given a licence to play his natural game in tonight's A-League season opener against Sydney FC.

The Solomon Islands international is set to make his debut for the club after signing from Koloale FC in the off-season.

Totori will be the second Solomons player to play in the A-League, after national captain Henry Fa'arodo, and says coach Ricki Herbert has told him to play to his strengths.

"He wants me to get behind defence, take on defence, and I play out wide so he just wants me to use my pace to outrun and to give a good cross for someone to finish, but if I could cut in and finish yep I would look forward for that as well. It's my first game - no pressure - but I just want to go out there and have fun."
