Cooks in talks with Etihad to get more European visitors

The Cook Islands Tourism Corporation is exploring working more closely with Etihad Airways to get more European tourists.

The Cook Islands News says discussions to that end were held at the French Travel Market show in Paris.

Etihad, which is based in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, already has a special relationship with Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia.

The latest efforts aim at promoting the Sydney to Rarotonga route among French travellers.

Further such discussions are expected with Etihad are expected in Spain, Italy and other European markets.
