The three men charged in relation to the death of a New Zealand police officer will appear in court again on Monday.

Matangi Tonga reports Semisi Manu appeared at the Nuku'alofa Magistrate's Court yesterday charged with manslaughter, and his case was adjourned to chambers next Monday.

Mr Manu who remains in police custody, was a detainee kept in the same cell as the victim at the Nuku'alofa Central Police Station.

Two policemen, Salesi Maile and Fatai Faletau, who are each charged with assault are currently on bail.

They are scheduled to appear at the Nuku'alofa Magistrate's Court on Monday.
