Papua police investigate shooting incident

In Indonesia's Papua, gunmen opened fire on a Freeport Indonesia car in Mimika, the latest instance of violence in the restive province.

The Mimika police told the Antara News Agency that members of the Indonesian Military were riding in the car when unknown gunmen started shooting.

Police say there is now team at the scene investigating Friday's incident.

One soldier was injured from broken glass in the attack. No one was killed.

Those in the car were reportedly bringing food to their colleagues at a post in Kampung Nayaro.

Police say soldiers arrived on the scene after hearing the gunshots and the assailants shot at those cars as well and then fled the scene.
