Organisers of the Pacific Islands Forum in the Cook Islands say they're confident everything is in place for the arrival of Hillary Clinton and her 50-strong security team.

The American Secretary of State arrives this evening to attend tomorrow's post forum dialogue.

The forum's media organiser, Derek Fox, says they were given a fair warning about the size of the delegation.

"So that we could plan accordling otherwise they wouldn't get a bed or a place to stay or a place they might have found appropriate to stay. So we got an indication quite early on of what the numbers were, about 50, down on what she normally takes we understand she more often travels with about 90."

Derek Fox says it's a great opportunity for the Cook Islands to receive international media attention.
