American Airlines and Tahiti's national airline Air Tahiti Nui, have received approval from the US Department of Transportation on a bilateral codeshare agreement.

The new agreement allows America to place its code on Air Tahiti Nui flights between Los Angeles International Airport and Papeete Faa'a International Airport.

The deal also allows Air Tahiti Nui to place its code on American flights from Los Angeles to more than 15 cities throughout the US, including New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami and Washington DC.

American's Vice President of Strategic Alliances, Kurt Stache, says his company is excited to launch the codeshare relationship with Air Tahiti Nui to give customers more options when traveling to the South Pacific and French Polynesia.

He says the agreement will provide customers with seamless access when traveling throughout their combined networks.
