The American Samoa Legislative Financial Officer Talalemotu Mauga has recommended that the government go after businesses that are behind in rent owed to the American Samoa Government.

Mr Mauga makes the recommendation in an analysis of the fiscal Year 2013 budget.

He says he has reservations on the three sources for local revenues cited in the budget book particularly the projected increase of 7.1 million US in individual income taxes.

Mr Mauga also says 6.8 million from the tobacco settlement should be treated as Fiscal Year 2012 revenues, and asks why these funds were not submitted to the Fono for appropriation.

He also asked if the total amount of 6.8 million is still available in the bank for the new fiscal year.
