The Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Gordon Darcy Lilo, will not attend next week's Pacific Islands Forum in the Cooks Islands.
The Solomon Star reports he is skipping the Forum because of a state visit to Australia this week, and he has decided to concentrate on domestic issues at home.
The newspaper reports some ministers plan to oust Mr Lilo in the October sitting of Parliament, after claims that they have lost confidence in his leadership.
It says several ministers and officials will still attend the meeting.
