Pacific police chiefs, meeting in Solomon Islands, are looking at how to improve the sharing of information on criminal activity in the region.
The theme of the conference is 'Enhancing Pacific Policing Through Information Management'
18 Pacific countries are represented including the New Zealand police commissioner and former Solomon Islands commissioner, Peter Marshall.
He says they are aiming to ensure that the information flows among the countries in the region is as efficient as it can be.
"We all hold lots of information. We all hold information for legitimate criminal investigations. So we actually work how we can best secure that information, how we can best use it in a legitimate and lawful way."
