Chiefs' hooker and former Manu Samoa captain, Mahonri Schwalger has signed with New Zealand provincial side Counties Manukau Steelers.
Schwlager says he was attracted to what Steelers coach Tana Umaga was trying to achieve at the province and wants to be a part of it.
Umaga says the 32 year olds class, experience and leadership qualities and will be hugely important in the development of young talent in the region.
