Sport: New look for Fiji netballers ahead of Pacific Series title defence

11:20 am on 21 June 2012

Fiji netball coach, Una Rokoura, says the team is looking to embrace the pressure of defending their Pacific Series title on home court next week.

Fiji won last year's tournament in Papua New Guinea and are the top-ranked team in the Pacific.

Only four players have been retained from the team which competed at last year's World Champs and Una Rokoura says she's pleased to have been able to add some extra height in the shooting circle.

"We've managed Taraima Rara, who's now Taraima Michelle, who's made her way back into the team and knowing Taraima was part of the 2007 World Cup champs to New Zealand. Also to have Matila Waqanidrola come back in after not being in FastNet, so the team that we have is a blend of experienced players and a few newbies coming in."
