Reports that leading Papuan activist killed by Indonesian police

Reports from Indonesia's Papua region say that a leading Papuan activist has been killed by police, sparking fears of more violence in the provincial capital.

Mako Tabuni of the West Papua National Committee and several of his followers were shot as part of a security forces operation in Jayapura, today.

A building at Cenderawasih University building in Jayapura is also reported to have been set on fire.
