Two Pacifica New Zealanders have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
Well known Niuean writer and artist John Pule has been made an Officer of the Order of New Zealand.
A prominent figure in the incorporation of the Samoan language and culture into the New Zealand educational curriculum, Tavale Tanuvasa, has also been acknowledged.
