Samoa has has no intention to alter its physical approach for the Oceania Nations Cup football tournament, which begins in Honiara next week.

Samoa qualified for the Nations Cup after winning a four-team qualifying tournament in Apia in November.

Since then they've had a change of coach but team manager Martin Suva Tamasese, says, while there will be some alterations to how they play, the team is confident and won't hold back.

"We trained from the end of last year and the strength right now, us Samoans are physical and also our fitness is quite good. We're going to play good games with those teams. We know they're quite good but the level we're at right now, we're going to beat it."

The Samoan team leaves for Honiara today, where they will play one more warm-up game before facing Tahiti on Friday.
