After a year of rebuilding, Fiji already has it's sights on going one better in next year's world sevens series.

Fiji ended the season with victory at the London Sevens on Monday - their third Cup title of the campaign.

They finished six points shy of New Zealand in the overall standings and assistant coach Etuate Waqa says while they came up short this time, he feels the building blocks have been laid for future success.

"We planned it this year - we wanted to get back into the top of the IRB Series and to finish second on this one we've achieved a lot of things, we've done the hard work. Since the beginning of the tournament we stuck to everything that we wanted to do and to come out like this and win in Twickenham and to finish off the series is a really big thing for us."
