A French Polynesian inmate, who killed his wife while on leave from prison, has died of the injuries he inflicted on himself.
The man was given half a day of freedom to cast his ballot in the French presidential election.
However, instead of going to vote, he went to see his wife and killed her before trying to commit suicide.
He has now died of his injuries.
The couple had three small children.
