Village leaders in American Samoa are no longer enthusiastic about hosting village groups from Samoa invited to participate in the annual Flag Day celebrations in Pago Pago.

American Samoa's biggest holiday, the annual Flag Day celebrations were held last week.

Governor Togiola Tulafono says in the past, villages in the territory were eager to host their brothers and sisters from Samoa, even without the government's financial help but he says things have changed.

Sources says villages in the territory don't want to go through the hassle of playing host, which can be costly.
