The construction of a new tourism centre in Solomon Islands' Temotu Province is almost complete.

The venue, which is being established in the provincial capital, Lata, is expected to promote the remote province's tourism attractions..

The Premier of Temotu, Father Charles Brown Beu says the best way to grow the economy is to expand tourism.

"The proposed centre which is nearing completion will provide a couple of things. One, it will help to co-ordinate tourism development in Temotu Province. It will also house training for business entrepreneurs wanting to be part of the tourism development and it would also earn an amount of income when other stake-holders or even other aspects of development will use that venue."

Father Charles Brown Beu says the provincial government is also working on tourism promotion for Temotu through the internet.
