Seven Fiji police officers have appeared in court for allegedly stealing groceries from a supermarket during the recent floods.
According to the Fiji Sun, they appeared in a special court sitting in Lautoka on Saturday and are free on bail to re-appear at the Ba Magistrates Court next week.
The Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Ioane Naivalurua says the police force has no place for ill-disciplined and unscrupulous officers.
He says the alleged incident is a betrayal of trust.
