10:47 am on 4 April 2012

The American Samoa Governor Togiola Tulafono is encouraging all qualified government workers in the territory to apply for a leadership development programme.

The Executive Leadership Development Programme to be held next year is part of the Graduate School United States Pacific Islands Training Initiative.

Togiola says the course has been designed to respond to the emerging personnel needs the insular governments continue to face.

He says it is designed to develop skills in leadership, management, government finance, procurement, and auditing.

The participants who are from the US-affiliated insular areas will meet four times during one year for one week each in Guam, Saipan, Pohnpei and Honolulu.

The governor is highly recommending all qualified American Samoa Government employees to take advantage of the opportunity to develop and improve executive leadership skills in the free program.
