New Zealand government gives half a million dollars to Fiji flood relief

The New Zealand government is giving half a million dollars to the agencies helping flood victims in Fiji.

The Foreign Affairs Minister, Murray McCully, says the money will be available immediately to groups including the Fiji Red Cross.

He says the Government will consider further support for relief agencies if needed.

Mr McCully says the situation is severe, as Fiji is still recovering from January's floods, and many agencies won't have fully replenished their relief supplies.
