10,000 US dollar drug haul seized by American Samoa police

Methamphetamine and marijuana with a street value of more than 10,000 US dollars was seized this week by police in American Samoa.

Samoa News reports the drugs, along with a rifle allegedly belong to Punefu Tuaolo and Ronald Wells.

The pair, who are in police custody, face various drug charges and are scheduled to appear in the District Court today.

They were arrested on Tuesday following a drug raid of Tuaolo's home in Nu'uuli village.

Police confiscated a rifle, live ammunition, bags containing marijuana and drug paraphernalia such as a glass pipe commonly use to smoke methamphetamine during the search.
